NATURAL INGREDIENTS

Our natural ingredients originate from plants, minerals or microbes and are extracted using physical processes or natural solvents like water or vegetable glycerin.

Acacia Senegal Gum

Natural sap produced by acacia trees in sub-Saharan Africa. The sap is hand-harvested through an eco-friendly process and provides an important source of income for the local communities. Acacia gum is a natural alternative to PVP and other synthetic hair fixatives. It boosts volume and offers flexible styling hold. 

Avena Sativa Kernel Flour / Colloidal Oat

A pharmaceutical grade preparation made from wholegrain oats. Colloidal oat is recognised as a skin protectant and soothing agent. It acts as a gentle cleanser, moisturiser, and protective ingredient. 

Bentonite

A mineral-rich clay composed of aged volcanic ash that has mild cleansing and oil absorbing properties. Sourced from Southland, New Zealand. 

Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil / Hemp

Cold-pressed from New Zealand grown hemp, this unique oil is rich in essential omega fatty acids. It strengthens weakened hair, minimising breakage while enhancing detangling, restoring softness and boosting shine. 

Cedrus Deodara Wood Oil / Himalayan Cedar

Essential oil steam distilled from Himalayan cedar wood. Imparts a warm, sweet, and woody scent. 

Cera Alba / Beeswax (Organic)

Organic beeswax sourced from New Zealand beehives using ecological beekeeping practices. A unique, protective ingredient that creates definition and flexible hold while keeping hair smooth and conditioned. 

Citrus Nobilis Peel Oil / Mandarin 

Cold-pressed from Australian grown mandarins. Smells sweet and citrus fresh.

Cocos Nucifera Oil / Coconut (Organic)

One of the only natural oils that has been proven to penetrate the hair shaft. It significantly reduces cuticle damage during washing, combing and heat styling when used as a leave-in or pre-wash treatment. We use cold-pressed, certified organic coconut oil that is produced by Pacific Island communities through equitable partnerships.

Copaifera Officinalis Resin Oil / Copaíba

Wild-harvested from Brazilian Copaíba trees through an eco-friendly tapping process that doesn't harm the tree. Copaíba oil also provides a sustainable income stream to the local communities. It imparts a woody, vanilla-honey scent and also has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Copernicia Prunifera Wax / Carnauba

A hard, botanical wax that helps to shape and hold hair in place, while smoothing the cuticle for a protective effect. The wax is wild-harvested from trees that grow in Northeastern Brazil. The leaves are cut and dried in the sun to extract the wax, a process that does not harm the tree or the environment and provides jobs for local communities.

Cymbopogon Martini Oil / Palmarosa

Harvested in India from a tropical wild-growing grass. It has a fresh floral fragrance with notes of geranium and rose.

Glycine Soja Oil / Soybean

A moisturising oil that is rich in lecithin, sterolins and vitamin E. It helps to restore skin barrier function and protect the hair and skin against oxidative processes.

Halloysite

A mineral-rich clay sourced from Matauri Bay in New Zealand. It absorbs excess oils from the hair, helping to create texture and lift.

Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil / Sunflower (Organic)

Rich in essential Omega 6 fatty acids that help to maintain the skin barrier and prevent moisture loss. It nourishes and moisturises the scalp and hair without feeling greasy. We use cold-pressed, certified organic sunflower oil produced in the UK. 

Hordeum Vulgare Powder / Barley

An ultra-fine starch extracted from Scandinavian grown barley and produced from a side-stream of the beverage industry that would otherwise go to waste. Barley starch effectively absorbs oil and leaves an invisible finish. 

Kaolin

A mineral-rich clay that absorbs excess oil and impurities from the scalp and hair. Sourced from Australia. 

Macropiper Excelsum Leaf Extract / Kawakawa in Sweet Almond Oil 

Native to New Zealand and used in traditional Māori medicine (rongoā). Wild-harvested Kawakawa leaves are macerated in Sweet Almond Oil to extract the oil-soluble active compounds. Kawakawa has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to alleviate dry, irritated scalps.

Magnesium Sulfate / Epsom Salt

A naturally occurring mineral found in seawater and underground deposits. It boosts wave, curl and volume - just like a swim in the ocean. We source ours from natural deposits in Germany.

Mangifera Indica Seed Butter / Mango (Organic)

Extracted from organically grown mangoes, this moisturising plant butter helps replenish and protect the scalp and hair.

Maris Sal / Sea Salt

Ecologically harvested from the South Pacific Ocean surrounding New Zealand and dried through solar evaporation to maintain the natural balance of minerals. Sea salt helps to recreate the perfect beach hair texture.

Parfum

Bespoke natural fragrance hand-blended in New Zealand by local perfumers using essential oils and natural isolates from plants. We follow the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) standards for the safe use of fragrance ingredients in our products.

Pentaclethra Macroloba Seed Oil / Pracaxi (Wildcrafted)

Contains the highest known concentration of behenic acid, an effective natural hair conditioner. Pracaxi oil forms a protective, hydrophobic layer around the hair which eases combing, enhances shine, and beautifies damaged hair. The seeds are collected then sun-dried and pressed for oil. The supplier works with local communities in the Amazon to produce the oil.  

Phormium Tenax Extract / Harakeke (Wildcrafted)

Native New Zealand flax used in traditional Māori medicine (rongoā). A portion of the Harakeke leaf base is harvested without harming the plant and then macerated with vegetable glycerin to extract polysaccharides and other phytochemicals. Harakeke is an excellent moisturiser for the skin and hair, it also imparts slip which keeps hair smooth and tangle-free. 

Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract / Rosemary

A potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Helps to prevent oxidative damage to the skin and hair, while also soothing dry and irritated skin. 

Santalum Spicata Wood Powder / Sandalwood (Wildcrafted)

A superfine powder with purifying properties and a fresh, woody scent. Made from wild sandalwood that has died naturally and is collected from the Western Australian Desert. Our supplier works in partnership with Aboriginal communities to harvest and produce their sandalwood products. 

Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil / Jojoba (Organic)

This unique oil is actually a liquid wax that is similar to the skin’s natural sebum. It forms a non-greasy, protective film that prevents moisture loss and makes skin and hair smooth, soft and supple. We use certified organic oil from Argentina. 

Tapioca Starch (Organic)

Extracted from the root of the cassava shrub, this silky powder is an excellent oil absorber that doesn’t dry out the scalp.

Tocopherol / Vitamin E

Extracted from seed oils, this natural vitamin is a potent antioxidant with protective, soothing and moisturising benefits for the skin and hair.
